“people” is plural. She insulted you, not “the people” having a discussion. Taken your way, every instance of an insult could be labeled threadshitting and that would be stupid, since there’s already a rule about individual/personal insults. I’m not going to try and explain it a third time since really, it’s pretty fucking obvious. ---

On further consideration, I think you may be right for the wrong reasons. In general, the point of threadshitting is to shut down the thread. \*\*Una \*\*didn’t care about shutting down the thread so much as finding an excuse to get in a few cheap shots. ---

**Shot From Guns** , you’ve been around since 2004? Did you have a name change, or did you just start upping your posting in the past year or so? I don’t have you on the radar as one of the board’s snarkers, and I usually have a pretty good memory. I’ll agree that **Una’s** reaction was poorly handled. She’s obviously letting you live rent-free in her head, and that is a mistake. That having been said, your characterization of your comment on her question as “gentle” raises an eyebrow, to say the least. As with so many things in life, this thread seems to be an expression of our tendency to see in the world that which resides mostly in ourselves. So while I can support the recommendation for **Una** to take a break and clear her head of thoughts of you and her feelings about your behavior, I would couple it with a similar recommendation for you. Yes, it’s not threadshitting so much as it’s just regular harassment, since the point was not as much “anybody who thinks this is stupid” as it was “you’re stupid and worthless and therefore your opinion is meaningless.” Which is still very much against the rules. ---

Like follow me across a board to harass me in completely inappropriate ways that are against the rules of the community. I’m not “focused” on it–I simply desired to respond in a way that I felt it deserved, which it would have been inappropriate to do in the thread where the attack happened.
