If you don’t like it you should all fuck off back to MPSIMS if you don’t like it!” when other people say “Whoa, that was uncalled for.” People who don’t hang around Fark or 4Chan or SomethingAwful or wherever most of the Internet “Culture” is attributed do just aren’t going to be exposed to the silly ridiculous sort of “humour” being discussed in the same quantities as people who are really into “Internet Culture” (and not just exposed to it second-hand here or on Friendface or wherever). ---

Thanks **Martini**. That’s exactly what I was thinking, but could not word it as well. Plus, it falls on what I feel are deaf ears (or as this is the internet, blind eyes), and I often just don’t bother. I know that I avoid boards that are like that. Hell, I find the posters who use ‘tom’ at the end of a post, trying to start a new SDMB meme, to be hopelessly annoying and it makes me much less likely to take the rest of their post seriously (assuming it had merit originally). ---

I’m guessing those people at those replies you listed above know about his many previous asshat topics (such as asking people how many dig for popcorn bags out of the trash at the movies so they can redeem a “free refill” just like he does all the time and equating anyone who doesn’t watch Terminator on laserdisc as being stupid…but hey, I disgress!). ---

There will be decent numbers of people who’ve got no idea who **Rand Rover** or **Der Trihs** or **Skald The Rhymer** or any of the other “High profile” posters are. It’s got nothing to do with “Not paying attention” and everything to do with “Never having had any reason to particularly notice”. And let’s pretend you are some sort of board celebrity. So fucking what?
