I want to quote a post from a closed thread in a new thread, but there is no quote icon. I’ve checked several closed threads, and it’s the same in all of them. Is this a function of the vBulletin, or is quoting not allowed from closed threads? ---

vBulletin assumes that if you’re quoting a post, it’s to make a reply in the thread from which you’re quoting. If the thread has been closed, no new posts are allowed, and the quote button disappears. You are allowed to quote a post in a closed thread in a different thread, but you’ll have to highlight the text with your mouse and cut and paste it into the other thread. ---

I think the multiquote button is an option in threads that are closed, but I can’t say for sure since the mods can still reply to closed threads. ---

Ah, sorry about that. In that case **Miller** is correct and you can just copy and paste into the new thread and add the quote tags (or use quotation marks). ---

To put it in simpler terms, you want your quote tag to look like this: [qu0te=JoeBlow;xxxxxxxx] Blah blah blah! [/quote] (Where xxxxxxxx= that 8-ish digit number found after “p=” in the direct link to the post’s #)
