Now, maybe I’m off, but it looks plausible that Kaczynski is making some effort at an appeal?

MHO, in case anyone wanted enough money to pay tax on 50 cents, is that it would be a grand error to return the hatchet and such. But I see no reason why some sort of proper photocopy couldn’t be made for his studying, as well as the studying of any researcher or scholar. That said, I have no idea what the precedent is here nor why he would want them unless he’s A) trying to heal himself, B) annoyed that he doesn’t have the stuff, and/or C) trying for an appeal in the future.

Actually, I’m kind of amazed that this story is getting so much press. We all know the guy is mentally ill. Now _this_ would be a story worthy of headlines:

“Unabomber inexplicably begins behaving rationally” - film at 11:00.
