Am I just weird, or did anybody else ever wish Wile E. would catch the Road Runner?

How come Road Runner could run through the tunnels painted on mountains, but Wile E. always got smashed?

No, WhiteWolf, even as a young tad, I wanted the coyote to catch the damn bird. I guess I’ve always sympathized with predators.

I must share this with my fellow posters – it will either amuse or disgust you. Last night – it must have been those corned beef sandwiches with Chinese mustard – I had a long, erotic dream which involved the cast of Scooby Doo.

Not only did I get to make it with Daphne, but Scrappy Doo got skinned to death.

What a beautiful dream.

A lot of cartoon characters are left handed. Is this because the cartoonist is drawing his/her own hands from a mirror?

Not to be a drag- I love these cartoon character conversations, and have many late nights of the same. But it always makes me wonder; when we all get ollllddd, and our synapses start to fire out of syntax… is all this stuff gonna start to come babbling out of our memorial fountain? Are the rest homes of the future gonna be populated with people rocking out on the porch humming the Flintstones Theme Song?

“OK, whatever, but why does he keep mumbling about Daphne and smiling?”

Velma’s not a dyke. She’s nursing a broken heart - didn’t you know she was Johnny Bravo’s lost love?

Freddy and Daphne were just mindless mystery/sex machines - no romance involved. Mysteries got them hot, they’d split up the group staying together, and hump like bunnies as foreplay to unmasking the villain.

Casper had no feet, he had the classic catoon ghost taper instead, and was never actually on the floor.

Where is the dividing line between hair and skin on the heads of Bart and Lisa Simpson?
I’ve never watched Futurama; is the one-eyed woman always deadly serious, or does she ever get amorous?
What kind of disposition does Darkwing Duck have? Is he a hothead like Donald, or a dingbat like Daffy?
I never saw the “underground” cartoons; does Fritz the Cat always have sex on his mind, or does he do other things too?

There’s a few questions I had to learn the answers to the hard way. I’ll share:

1. Rabbit Season: August to January
2. Duck Season: September to February
3. Baseball Season: April to October
4. Elmer Season: The Elmer is a protected species and the hunting of such is expressly prohibited under the various homocide and manslaughter laws of each state, commonwealh, territory and possession of the United States of America.

> Wimpy VS. Jughead hamberger eating contest: A close call; both are shameless moochers and insatiable gluttons. I’ve seen both eat until their stomachs expanded to the size of beanbag chairs. But I’d have to give the edge to Wimpy.

Wrong again. Remember, Jughead’s a teenager, so he has the edge.

Other questions: What does the “S” on Jughead’s shirt stand for? He was about to tell Archie once when he was going to leave town, but he never did because they got to stay.

Do the rest of the Archies know that Jughead is gay?

Dougie: Fritz the Cat was R. Crumb’s satire of early '60s collegiate pseudo-Bohemia; mopst of the Fritz stories were written/drawn before Crumb exploded on the Scene with ZAP COMICS No. 0 in 1967.

When he wasn’t porking, Fritz pursued typical interests of the time: Zen, folk music, marijuana, Kerouac. After the Ralph Bakshi movie/debacle, Crumb portrayed Fritz as a tired out, washed up Hollywood hack, and had him murdered by a groupie (an ostrich girl who sunk an ice-pick in his skull).

Matt: I always figured the “S” was to point up the fact that Juggie was just a little “off” from the other Riverdale kids…just one letter’s worth.

A gay Jughead intrigues me…who do you think he fantasizes about in the dark, dark night? Reggie? Moose? Dilton Doily? (Nah, that’s TOO easy.)

Petunia appears in a few of the really early (pre-Bugs) Porky Pig cartoons. The one I remember has them as tragic lovers in a sort of Hatfield/McCoy fued between two neighboring farms. Not really worth seeing for anything other than historical purposes. It’s generally of the rubberby movement and lots of sappy singing movement (as when Eddie Valient first drives into Toon Town in Roger Rabbit). WB didn’t hit their stride until later.

Tweety was written as a boy, but its current female fan base (_shudder_) seems to have applied some sort of perceptual sex-change.

If you’ve never watched, why do you care? In a moment of weakness, she had sex with galactic slimeball Zap Brannagan (sp?) (a Capt. Kirk parody) and has never been able to live it down. Otherwise, she has problems picking up men because most earth men are repulsed by her one eye. Also, she can fall out of serious mode and get absolutely disgustingly cute with her pet, Nibbler.

Considering how fierce Reggie, Moose, Chuck, and even Dilton (yes, Dilton!) can be when riled, I doubt that Jughead is gay or has any romantic interest in any of them; but I think that he has kept company with other girls (not Big Ethel!) in recent years, since kids reading the strip and seeing that he has no pretty girlfriend like Betty, Veronica, Midge, or Nancy (or even Sabrina!), might suppose that he is gay. In any case, he is most definitely a loner, not relishing contact with either sex, and even alienated often enough from his teachers and parents, and even from Hot Dog. Food seems to be his only “consuming” passion.

To Ukelele Ike: I would more likely choose Pop Tate than Roughhouse to cater anything; so far as I know Roughhouse never left his burger stand, while Pop Tate has, to my recollection, even catered (burgers, of course) to Mr. Lodge, who of all the Archie characters can really fork over the bucks to Mr. Tate. I don’t know of any Popeye character who could pay Roughhouse to do catering.

Heavin forbid that i should get serious for a second, but comment on the Archies:

I have before me the official: Riverdale and Back Again. A look at the gang fifteen years after high school. No definitive proof that Jughead was gay - he’s a divorcee with a young son.
What I want to know though is how the heck did everyone pronounce Mr Mxyzptlk’s name? They bantered it around in their word balloons effortlessly while we just substituted a random noise in our minds…
