Unbelievable: my cat was playing with a real live bobcat!

Wonderful pics!

WOW I was hoping for pics when I clicked the thread. This is amazing!!

Fabulous and fascinating pictures!

bwahahaha

Your cat: “I could so beat your ass, bitch.”
BobCat: “Bring it, bitch.”
Your cat: “Oh, it’s already been broughten. I brought it, opened it, and put it on the table for you, bitch. I’ll beat your ass!”
BobCat: “Oh yeah, well, I’ll. . . I’ll . . who am I kidding? You probably could. So do you have any neat string toys we could play with?”
Your Cat: “Why yes, yes I do. Not for you, though! Bii-otch!!!”

I like to think that small, adorable creatures are vulgar like sailors.

Really, really cool! I’ve only seen one in the “wild” (far west Lubbock, Texas actually).

That explains you, then.
Ooooohhhhhh burn!

Do me a favor and get me one of them wild, feral kitties. I need me a new one to set my neighborhood straight since the departure of my previous one, Spaulding.

This is him when he wants his fooding.

Wow, great pictures.

Both cats are splendid creatures.

I’m curious as to what kind of interaction they would have had without the glass between them.

Do you have any aloe. . . for my burn? :frowning:

Only if daddy can rub it in.

yep! that’s as pervy as it looks on preview, too.

Yup, they definitely CAN breed. The Pixie-Bob cat is the result of this.

Those ears are hilarious, PapSett. It’s like NORAD for cats.

Hey! I have two girl kitties who look just like that! One’s got blue eyes (and is really, really stupid, but huge) and the other has one blue eye/one orange eye and is really, really horny even though she’s been fixed. Drives my 14 year-old neutered Merlyn absolutely crazy…

But absolutely cool pictures Geoff. I’m glad you were in charge. Had it been me I would likely have opened the door to see what would happen. I have a feeling it would have gone badly soon after.

I’m not big on cats but this was funny:

I can imagine the cat going “Yawn, it’s a bobcat behind a glass wall. Stupid human.”

Cool pictures, Geoff, but I think you’ve been forgetting to water your lawn.

Yeah, Inigo Montoya, we were tempted all right, but I think you’re right. If you’ll ship me one of your cats, I’ll try in next time.

Ha! Good one, Pedro, you’ve got it exactly right.

Klondike–one of your photos is now on my Desktop.

I showed prints to our photographer, here at the lab, & he was very interested.

You, your kitty, & the bob got fans!

Cervaise, just before moving to AZ, the happiest two moments of my life were when I sold the lawn mower and the snow blower.

Very cool pics! I’m jealous–I want bobcats in my backyard!

As for interbreeding, house cats can interbreed with several other kinds of cats. We know a lady who lives up north of San Francisco who owns a kind of preserve for small wildcats (mostly ocelots, but also servals, bobcats, and jungle cats). She has Chausies, which are hybrids of domestics and jungle cats, as well as one she calls an Isis Cat–I don’t remember what she bred to get that one, but she claims it is the only one of its kind in the world (or was, three or four years ago). And the Savannah Cat is a domestic crossbred with a Serval.
