In [Have people actually survived being hit by lightning multiple times?](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/061201.html), Unca Cece, apparently unimpressed, noted \*at least you had somebody… keeping things straight, in contrast to, say, Wikipedia, which is more the million-monkeys-with-a-million-keyboards approach. \* All this reminded me that Cecil himself has a Wikipedia page, at: [Cecil Adams](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecil_Adams). ---

Well, some of the monkeys are smarter and better typers than the rest. (And to be serious, thanks for letting me know about the Wikipedia page. I had not seen that one. With the breadth of coverage on Wikipedia it must be _several_ million monkeys.) ---

The Chicago Reader admited this: _CECIL ADAMS DOES NOT IDENTIFY ANY PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL BUT WAS DEVISED AS A FANCIFUL NAME_ in the document I linked from the USPTO. It’s either true, or they’ve made a false statement in a federal filing–which I suspect would be a bad thing to do. ---

This thread isn’t exactly what I thought it would be when I popped in, but I’d still like to add that someone with some better skills than I should rewrite the SDMB Wiki page. Polish and shine that sucker up, it’s all about keeping up appearances and potentially drawing in some new blood. ---
