In the past 2 weeks this is what has happened in my world: A coworker’s only child (daughter) was injured in a wrestling accident and ended up in pediatric ICU, post-craniotomy, on a ventilator and ICP monitor and not moving her left side. Now she is out of ICU, weakly moving her left side, but losing strength in her right side and she has MRSA. My husband and I agreed to file for divorce. He is now in danger of losing his job, so that’s on “hold”. One of Daughter’s best friends has been found dead in her dorm room at Washington U in St Louis. Entire community is devastated here. Daughter is a wreck with finals looming as well. No foul play is suspected. Good friend runs the after school “day care” program for our school district. One of the kids, aged 6, has died at home, cause unknown, but trauma and abuse have been ruled out. Just got a call from my MIL. My FIL is in ICU. I have had about 3 hours sleep in the past 24. I am exhausted from worrying about my daughter long distance, making calls for the family and now I have to go to ICU to shore up my MIL. I need a fucking hug. ---
