Undecided Voters?? Aggghhhhhhh

With margins like these, some 4 to 5% of the population actually getting to decide the next leader of the country, you do realize that we’re at flip-of-the-coin territory here right?

The 5% or so remaining are gonna be unpredictable, and that’s what people hate. Everyone wants to know NOW who’s definitely going to win, or at least be more likely. But they don’t. And they won’t, because 5% of the population are smart enough to realize, as has been said, that it really is just a matter of which mouth-breathing, paranoid delusion spouting, fantasy talking homeless guy you’d rather sit next to on the train for your daily commute for the next four years.

The devil you know, or the devil you don’t know? Fuck it up as it has been, or fuck it up on a whole 'nother level?

Good luck with that. I’m inclined to write-in George Washington, or Rambo…

I am an acid-test voter; if you are on the wrong side of my issue, I will not vote for you.

Actually, if your party is on the wrong side of my issue, I will not vote for you, because too many of you have changed your personal position to adopt the party line.

If your main opponent is a deranged idiot, I will vote for a third party candidate.

There are lots of people like me; they just have different acid issues. I admire the Undecideds.

Thanks for the Jimmy Dore link. Nice to see TV’s Frank again!

I presume “undecided” includes people who just don’t care who’s president?

HuffPo interviewed several of the undecided voters who asked questions at Tuesday’s debate.

Turns out…

…they’re still undecided.

I’m beginning to think that you could hold a gun to these peoples’ heads while handing them a ballot and shout “VOTE! NOW!” and they’d be unable to commit.

How dare those people have a different timeline for their decision than the OP! Sheesh, maybe they’re just busy trying to keep their family fed and haven’t been reading message boards, debating with people about the various issues and candidates. Maybe they just have different values than you, and things don’t stack up yet.

Mediocre at best president vs mediocre at best candidate. I generally vote republican (put that rock down) but I have not been happy with my choices this cycle. And I live in a state that is going Obama no matter what. So whats to decide?

I think they’re just ignorant, apathetic, and abdicating their civic responsibility to stay informed. You’re not going to learn any new information in the next 20 days that you don’t have already.

Someone I know on Facebook posted yesterday that she’s still undecided and she wants all of her friends to tell her who they’re voting for and why, “preferably with cites,” so that she can make her decision.

I’m like…seriously? All of the ads, and newspaper articles, and opinion papers, and debates, and public appearances, and political Facebook posts from your friends, and Wikipedia articles, and even documentaries for God’s sake… all of that wasn’t enough for you to make your decision and now you want your friends to go find cites for you? The whole fucking Internet is a cite at this point. Use your brain and stop being so lazy.

In the immortal words of the great philosopher Bobcat Goldthwait:

So, why are we having these debates? You know there is still one more.

Like I said. how dare they have a different time frame than you! Shame on them. And don’t tell me I have a “civic responsibility” to stay informed. I’ll stay as well informed as I damn well please, thank-you-very-much.

Ah, you’re a republican, I see.

I’m just not much into telling other people what they should or shouldn’t do wrt the political process or how quickly they need to make up their minds about things. You can call me whatever you think that makes me.

If your Facebook friend lives in Ohio, as you do and as I do, how on earth could she not have more information than she could possibly want? The non-stop ads make me worship at the altar of Netflix.

I wish these so-called “undecided” voters would just promise NOT to vote. I’m all for getting out the vote, but I have to question how much value we’re getting from votes cast by people who are this ignorant and/or apathetic. And for those who say that these people have more important issues, like feeding their families, I say that is what this election is all about. Which candidate or party do you think will help you the most in achieving your personal goals and needs?

Pageantry.

Because they’re ignorant and apathetic.

Yep.

Good for you. I’ll tell you what I damn well please, and you’re welcome.

Being in New Jersey basically means I have no say in the election. It is going to go democrat no matter what. It kind of sucks that my vote really doesn’t matter much. But I am thankful that it means that I don’t get bombarded with TV ads. Just a few here and there.

It’s rare that there aren’t at least a few local elections or issues up for grabs, and those are arguably more important to your everyday life anyway.

Would you mind elaborating WHY Johnson is so repugnant?

We have a one party (democrat) incredibly corrupt local government. There are some republican pockets in the state and some places that are up for grabs. I don’t live in one of those places. There is no chance at any level for anyone other than a democrat to be elected where I live. With the exception of the Reagan landslide NJ goes democrat. NJ elects democratic senators. The only thing that goes back and forth is the governor. Things going bad in the state and country? Vote the bum out. Its just the way it is. Obama is not worried about the state. Sen Menedez is not worried about losing. He has some TV ads, not much. I’m used to it. Our state is generally ignored during national races. Our primary happens long after the race is over. My vote does not matter.

I don’t plan on voting, because I can’t really justify supporting either one of these asshats, but I suppose that something could happen to convince me otherwise between now and election day.

Vote anyway for a third party or write in Mickey Mouse. The more people that are recorded as voting third party or for write ins, the sooner we can get a viable third party to vote for.
