I am thinking being found by Big jim has not significantly improved Angie’s situation. compounding this is the fact that Big jimis trying to set himself up as leader of DomeTown and can not afford to be caught with a young girl chained up in his bomb shelter, so he has to find a way to cover Junior’s and his own asses. ---

I think the network was uncomfortable with what King wrote about Angie and Junior but didn’t want to ditch the subplot entirely. I’m re-reading **Stinger** by Robert McCammon (1988). The book’s not perfect – he’s got teenagers going into rages fueled by marijuana. :dubious: But when this town was encased in a force field, the first thing the mayor does is get people together to talk about what’s happened, take inventory, lock up the liquor store, etc. They also have a huge fire that started in a junk yard (tires burning) and the air is getting bad. No electricity, no water, in a hot Texas town in summer. And aliens. 😃 What I liked about **Stinger** and think they should have done in **Dome** is spend some time getting acquainted with the town and its people. It helps you care about what happens to them. ---

No, he is _not_ a hit man although due to crap writing I can see how people make that mistake. He is an _enforcer_ - basically a bill collector that does more than just call you at odd and inconvenient hours i.e. threatens you with physical harm. He killed Dr. Shumway because the guy started a fight, NOT because he set out to do that and he certainly wasn’t hire to do that. Or was I the only one who saw the bit in the first episode where he’s shouting into the phone that things went all wrong? ---

Still, that doesn’t really make him a great guy. I did get a chuckle out of his listing his former occupations - “Short order cook, etc…” 🙂 ---

I want a complete story with a beginning and an end. I don’t want to be endlessly dragged along with idiotic twists until the series is canceled and the finale is never shown or hastily thrown together. ---

Well, that sucks. I was really hoping this would just be one season with 13 episodes and it would all be wrapped up at the end. I really have no desire to stick with this for longer than that. ---

This may be a stupid question but… Why did they want to bomb the dome? Using explosives on the dome to see if anything happens isn’t a bad idea, really, but why start with the MOAB instead of something a little more dainty? The people inside are ok for the time being, so it wasn’t a last-ditch effort to save them. The dome, as far as we know, wasn’t hurting anything outside of it, so why bomb it into oblivion? Why not wait until there was a need to try something drastic? ---

Why force all the visitiors to cramp up in the one spot? There’s nothing but space to either side. And why aren’t the people on the outside getting shocked when they touch the dome? How much did MS pay for that product placement, do you suppose? Why was Ms. Police Chief so determined to keep everyone away from the dome, when she immediately ducks under the tape – twice! – and not just approaches the dome but dome-kisses her husband? Are we supposed to believe everything is now okay between Junior and Angie? Are we supposed to believe that the government would decide to explode the dome because some monarch butterflies landed on it?? Are we supposed to believe that the government would A) reach that decision within five hours of the butterflies appearing and B) be ready to carry it out within 12 hours??? This show is not just bad, it reeks. So why can’t I stop watching??? ---
