# Under-Tongue Diet Spray

A friend has lost 15 pounds recently and I asked about his diet. He said he was using a hormone spray under his tongue that encouraged fat burning. Normally I would have burst out laughing, but he’s a pretty famous anesthesiologist. What’s he got? I was afraid to ask.

Sounds like HCG, the current weight loss fad. From what I hear it’s not particularly effective or safe.

The trick with the HGC diets I’ve seen is that the HGC is basically there as a gris-gris. It gives you something to pay attention to and gives you faith in the diet.

The hard work is being done by the fact that most people are going to be slicing a third to a half off their caloric intake and drastically reducing their simple carbs.
