So I’m flipping the channels last night and come across The MC Hammer Story on VH-1 last night. I was compelled to stop and watch for a minute, naturally, and without thinking about it, starting singing… “uh oh, uh oh, uh oh uh oh, uh oh, uh oh, uh oh uh oh, here comes **december**!” …which **Biggirl** posted on the temp board a while back. It would seem the board has taken over my subconscious, as well as my work computer. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. I passed a Wayfarers-wearing pretty boy the other day and thought, [“Risky McSuntan!”](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=103310) from **Lux Fiat** ’s post. Tell me this happens to others. Please? ---

Do you mean stuff like catching yourself from saying “Well, we were discussing this on the Dope the other day…” in just about every conversation? Cause that never happens to me. ---

Well, there have been the times that I’ve mentioned this board to my RL friends, and they think I"m nuts! :eek: Suppose it’s a good thing that I’ve never mentioned any of the in-jokes or catch phrases to them! (like the infamous OG SMASH, for example) However, I admit that I did buy [Haagen-Dazs ice cream](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=109158&highlight=damn+jerry) (though not Ben & Jerry’s, yet) and [raw cookie dough](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=104283&highlight=cookie+dough) solely on the basis of reading the threads associated with these items. Guess I’m more suggestible than I thought I was! 😛 Really, though, I’ve come to trust a certain measure of your opinions, and consider you my friends. 🙂 ---

A few weeks ago a (lesbian) co-worker was telling me about her new toaster. I blurted, “Did you get that for converting your girlfriend?” OK, I know it’s a fairly common joke, but I did hear it first on the Board. ---
