Curiously, Brent Oil prices continue to go down, one would expect if the Strait is blocked again they would be going up. Lag? Assumption that this new closing will be resolved shortly? ---

I would exchange my president for Pedro Sanchez in a heartbeat. Which is not so impressive considering that I would exchange my president for the lowest ranked leader in the Civilization I scoreboard (Dan Quayle) without thinking too much about it, unfortunately. ---

Is this being reported in the US as a massive humiliation for Trump as it is here in the UK? Iran may have endured enormous losses but politically they are more powerful than ever. And the new Ayatollah is even more radical than the last one. For Israel I think it’s even worse. They’ve been trying for decades to convince the US to attack Iran. They should have been more careful with what they wished for. I cannot see Israel maintaining a ceasefire; a continuation of the Iranian revolution is not something they will ever tolerate. But now they risk angering their most powerful partner, and the relationship with the US is only going to become more difficult as a result, seeing how unpopular and damaging it has been. ---

ISTM the war is a total disaster for basically everyone but the IRGC, which has cemented control of the country, raised its popularity among its people, and is now in control of the Strait of Hormuz. Maybe don’t start a war with idiots in charge, no mission, no strategy, and no plan? ---

Was musing over the 10-point Plan which I’d agree is an Iranian opening gambit, but still 45/47 has described it as “workable”. Take the USD2mil toll for passing through Hormuz, say $2/barrel for the argument. Let’s say the Iranians up the deal to being USD4mil toll but of that toll USD1mil goes directly to Trumps Board of Peace and USD1mil goes to some Mar a Largo based slush fund, with the condition that 45/47 gets Israel to stop reducing their ordnance inventories against their neighboring territories. Might that sweeten the deal sufficiently? ---
