# University of Notre Dame changes lyrics to Victory March

Notre Dame’s fight song, which debuted in 1908, is getting an update to commemorate the 50th anniversary of women first being admitted to the university.

“While her loyal sons are marching onward to victory” in the last line of the first verse becomes “While her loyal sons and daughters march on to victory.”

Good. It was awkward singing the original version while watching the Notre Dame women’s basketball team in the tournament.
