To be specific, unless you’re taking a trip down to New Orleans to drop off supplies, you’re a shittier man than **pinkfreud’s** husband and are in no position to criticize him. If he wants to drop off supplies in New Orleans and meanwhile pick up a plastic New Orleans license plate, good on the man. If he wants to drop off supplies in New Orleans and meanwhile take a gander at the storm damage, he’s still doing more than you. And if he wants to care for puppies, it’s none of your goddamn concern. I remember a story from September 11, about a pet cat that survived in a nearby apartment drinking dirty water until she was rescued and reunited with her humans. And you know what? That was one of the things that helped THAT couple cope with what happened. It would make ME feel better at least, someone helping my beloved animals. These animals may not mean shit to you, **Unregistered Bull** , but they are loved by someone, and I’m sure these people feel better, or comforted, knowing that someone is trying to help them. Fuck you if you don’t understand that. ---

I was eagerly anticipating this pitting. \*\*Unregistered Bull[/s], you are either crazy or a deliberately mean person. I would welcome such opinions in a GD thread about the relative value of animals and humans. Heck, even in some Pit threads, it might be appropriate. But this going in a derailing EVERY MPSIMS thread about animals with your whacked-out agenda has GOT to stop. ---

This is one last-ditch effort to explain this in a way **Unregistered Bull** might understand. But I doubt it. Y’know what, let’s just leave that cat, because the amount of effort it would take to transport it out of the area isn’t being used for a human. Doesn’t matter that it’s declawed and can’t fend for itself, let’s just leave it to starve to death and make the sanitation disaster that is New Orleans that little bit much worse. Or, I know! Let’s leave Fluffy the Rottweiler wandering the streets getting hungrier and hungrier and more desperate until finally, someone gets between him and something edible. Or just tell a little girl at a shelter, “No, honey, there’s not a chance in hell you’ll ever see Miss Kitty again, because no one’s going to waste a single cent helping animals. She’s going to be dead long before you get to go home.” See how well \*that \*goes over. Help the animals, help the humans. It’s not an either-or proposition here. ---

Once human beings are taken care of, save all the animals that you want. I’ve argued in favor of respecting different cultures’ uses of animals and commercially viable raising and slaughter of livestock and poultry. Picking up animals is enabling the wasting of resources of saving animals instead of humans. Animal rights is bizzare, disturbing, and dangerous trend. The desire to ignore human plight in the greatest disaster to hit the US while focusing on animal plight instead just bears this notion fruit.
