I don’t think she’s used to people who will keep on coming at her. I think she’s used to people who either “see the light” for the purpose of getting her to shut up (“Yes, I accept the dude, now will you please fuck off already?”) or just completely ignore her. But I don’t think she’s at _all_ used to the many types of arguments she’s gotten here even from the start. First thread she was in (started by Eve in GD, I think) she said, after a few responses, “I don’t know how to answer that.” It’s been pretty clear for a while that she doesn’t know much about her faith other than who (other than her) is a sinner. And especially clear that expressing God’s love in a way other than saying “you’re sinning” is anathema to her. Pity, too. With the way she’s headstrong about her other religious beliefs, she could be a strong soldier in His army. Instead she’s busy firing at her fellow soldiers. ---

Well, I went and searched for a bunch of **H4E** ’s posts to refresh my memory and make sure of what she seems to be doing. (I generally stay out fundies threads 'cause I usually find them to be a mockery of reasonable people who believe that the Bible may in fact be Divinely inspired or, at least, valuable moral guidence and good literature.) And… while I still say everyone has their right to hold and post an opinion… I have to say to **H4E** , “Lighten up! You’re making Christianity look bad.” While there are, indeed rules that Christians should follow (Ok, ok. That’s IMHO), the primary law of Christianity was stated by Jesus himself in John 13:34. _“I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”_ I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, **H4E** , but you’re sinking your own ship. ---

**His4ever** , I too would like to ask you to stay. And again, with a heartfelt suggestion that you _think_ twice and post _once_. I speak as the proverbial voice of experience here, in case you’re wondering. I began my SDMB postings in a thread about homosexuality, and was soundly whooped by many a poster. You see, my error was that _it_, meaning homosexuality, had no import to me. And being a simpleton, I failed to recognize that this issue is naturally more than an abstract one to far too many people to be treated in a cavalier manner. My incredibly pathetic attitude allowed me to jump into the water, feet first, and proceed to wax idiotic about the perils of gaydom. Yes, I was stupid in many, many ways. Now I didn’t leave, at least not immediately, but the bad taste from my own actions took a toll. I eventually took a four month break from the board to get my thoughts in line, and I’ve just recently started posting. Hoping I’ve lived and learned something, even a little, to better my time here, I’m urging you to think about doing the same. And by the by, you don’t accept e-mail apparently. I think she’s a good person, after all-I can see it. But I think she just has so many issues with herself and her faith. I don’t see someone who ENJOYS telling people they’re going to Hell. I also see someone who is hurting. Call me crazy. _shrugs_ ---

But after all the threads and _mistakes_ I made I really feel this board has helped me to “see the light” as you say :). I just spent an incredible two months with people from all over the world and I have to say that without the things I have learned and experienced here, I may have been quite judgemental at some of the things and people I saw and met. I really hope and pray **His4ever** that this experience, in the end, will bring you a more loving, compassionate, and caring heart. I hope that you will bring out of this an ear for hearing when someone is truly calling out to be witnessed too, and when someone just wants to be loved by another human being and not judged. God is love and he calls his followers to be the same. I hope you as well as I can remember to love others as he loves us. See you around and God Bless. ---
