I agree. (The cover features a topless pubescent girl.)

> Yes, you are. Not all nudity is pornography.

The issue is not whether it’s pornography, but whether it’s something you want popping up on your work computer.

Sorry, I thought about NSFW but then I figured eh, it’s a rather popular album cover from the '60s, shouldn’t be a big deal. I’ll be more cautious next time.

Bongripper - Heroin

Not an unusual cover, but it came packaged with a kit for shooting up. Just add heroin!

Yeah, unfortunately things have changed a lot since then, what with the “OMGKIDDIEPORN!!!111One!” crowd getting their undies in a bunch over what would have been considered perfectly innocent photos of kids from days gone by. In a climate where parents can be arrested for taking bathtime pics of babies, I just thought it might not be a great idea to get that image stuck in my browser cache at work. Sad but true.

Yes, but it hasn’t been available for a long time. I bought a copy of the LP with the original cover in 1969, which I still have. (Being 17 at the time, I had to stash it so my parents couldn’t see it.) But the [cover that replaced it](http://www.1000recordings.com/images/artist-b/blind-faith-108-l.jpg)due to the controversy was very generic.

I swear, every one of these threads about album covers has the words “Blind Faith” or “Virgin Killer” in them somewhere. I’m sick of hearing about them.

Anyway, carry on.

Billiion Dollar Babies had a one foot long Billion Dollar Bill in it (which, I’m pretty sure, was fake).

My nomination is Smell the Glove, by Spinal Tap. It was black. Totally black, and if you were to ask "How much blacker can it get?’ the answer is "None. None blacker. "
Best wishes,

> There is (was?) cool cd packaging as well. Like the [Spiritualized album _Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space_](http://www.flourella.net/strangelove/pictures/spiritualized-ladies-ltd.jpg) that was shaped as a pillbox. You even had to pop the disc out of the blister packaging the first time you heard it.

This is the one I came in to mention. The linked picture wasn’t even the best packaging for the album. There was one version that consisted of [12 CDs, individually wrapped in blister packs,](http://sleevage.com/spiritualized-ladies-and-gentlemen-we-are-floating-in-space/), one for each song on the album.

Lynyrd Skynyrd had to change their album cover after the plane crash that killed part of the band.

> Street Survivors is the fifth studio album by the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, released on October 17, 1977. The LP is the last Skynyrd album recorded by original members Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins, and is the sole Skynyrd studio recording by guitarist Steve Gaines. Three days after the album's release, the band's chartered airplane crashed en route to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, killing the pilot, co-pilot, the group's assistant road-manager and three band members (Van Zant, Gaines, and...

The original cover showed the band members with fire and that was bad taste after the crash.

When Spinal Tap released _Break Like the Wind_ they packaged the CD jewel case in an 18" “extra-long box” to make fun of the wasteful long box controversy.

This is beyond the range of the OP’s request for oddly _shaped_ LP covers, but the all-black cover thing was done back in 1969 by comedian Murray Roman for his album _Blind Man’s Movie_. Not only was the gatefold cover itself entirely black inside and out, it even had an all-black booklet bound inside!
