Unusual cinematic versions of Shakespeare's plays? (potential spoilers)

Although one of my favourite films I’m not sure this fits in with the OP. ‘Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead’ the film is based on ‘Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead’ the play.

The play (first performed in the sixties I think) isn’t a ‘reworking’ of Hamlet - the extracts of Hamlet which intersect with Stoppard’s dialogue are 100% faithful - but more giving a bizarre hazy back story to two minor characters.

There’s McLintock!, the old West version of Taming of the Shrew. Stars John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.
