The name itself is not that odd, but… A basketball player named Tyson Gay had a really stellar game one day last week. The next morning, the Indianapolis Star’s sports section had a big headline. GAY IS GREAT AGAIN ---

I went to grade school with a poor girl named Bologna. I assume her mother named her after the Italian city, but you can guess what we all called her: Baloney. Might be a good time to mention my nephew who’s just been named [Phuc](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=426238). ---

My brother’s first name is Glen, his last name is Hill. Our parents had a thing of geographical names. I was named after a South African diamond mine. Luckily, its not as obvious as bro’s. 😃 ---

I had a customer a few weeks ago named Phuc Dat. Fortunately I didn’t have to speak to him (was all by email) because I don’t think I would have been able to say it without laughing. ---

Oh lord. I once saw a fax at work from Kimball Pugmire to Henrietta Roudabush. There was also a guy there named Dwayne Macadangdang. All pretty regular names, but the first name - last name combos still crack me up. ---

Just 2 days ago my friend was talking about a kid her aunt had in class named Knievel My ex’s mom went to school with 3 sisters: Swimmea, Brimmea, and Spookaleen (sp?) ---

The girl behind the counter at the pizza place last Sunday had a nametage that said Aisol. I didn’t ask her how she pronounced it. Now I’m hoping I meet a Phuc Dat Aisol. ---

I taught two sisters named Mona Lisa and Ophelia. Also had a Princess Bernard in my class. One of my senior students saw that name on a paper and asked, “What, does she have a brother named ‘Saint?’” My daughter went to school with Brandy Coffee. We also met a bank teller named Aneeda Gnap. Pronounced “I need a nap.” ---
