Perhaps because you haven’t been eating or drinking during the night, and the uric acid content in your “pee” is greater.

FWIW, I think **Bosda** pretty well has it. Additionally, your blood sugar level drops overnight, so your urine contains less sugars, and thus doesn’t have the sweetish odor that daytime urine usually does. Incidentally, I believe one of the earliest diagnostic techniques for identifying diabetes was to note the excessively sweet odor of the urine.

If you drink a lot of water, like I do, then you’re used to a great deal coming back out in the coursse of your daily life. If you go and sleep for several hours on end and not go to the bathroom, there’s a significantly greater amount of waste flushed from the body when your go in the morning. For me, at least, the simple volume is enough to make me notice the smell.
What exactly do you mean by weird, **Jada**?

After a night of above average drinking I notice that my urine has a distint smell to it. It smells somewhat sweet but not sugary, more like an alcohol or aldehyde. I know that the liver converts the ethanol into another molecule and I was just wondering if this is what I am smelling.
