Off to see the wizard! …actually the granddaughter Hattie, chief and only wizardette. There will be almost unending silliness. She (her 3 yo self) is leaving tomorrow for a week in a remote cabin in the woods near Estes Park. She’s letting her mom and daddy come too. Morning all. As expected, soccer practice was cancelled due to the 20-minute rain shower. After saying unkind words I went out and paid the water bill and came home to a big bowl O’sallit. Up early and have a load of laundry, which need to head to the dryer and a second load added. Also want to clean out the icemaker, some of the cubes have been there so long they are forming their own glacier… **Red** , cute pups. **FCM** , going to be a different house without all those folks incoming and outgoing. And happy B-day to Daughter-unit. **Boo** , enjoy the day with G-daughter. **flyboy** , I’m arguing with a soccer shop on the cones they sent me. They want pictures too… **Nettie** , that’s Abu Dhabi weather…hope it cools down soon. **Dot** , no place is impossible to find. They need to get a driver what can read maps/instructions… Last banana in the house has been assimilated. Will have to remedy that in a bit. All y’all take care now. ---

My original game plan for today involved being a zombie. This plan has changed. In my area, there’s a pet store specializing in birds and their paraphernalia. DH has been trying to get another dove since Ava crossed the Bridge last October. The bird shop will in fact have a dove for us sometime today, so my game plan has now changed to include a 30±minute drive (each direction) to acquire the featherhead when he/she arrives at the shop (we do not yet know his/her gender, but do know we’re getting a white bird). Yes, pictures will be available ASAP. I’m making DH clean and set up the cage, etc., for the new arrival, since this is more his thing than mine. I like birds OK, just wasn’t sure I wanted to own another one, but DH really really does. Feeling reasonably human now that the antibiotics are working their way out of me. Not to sound too alarming, but when I good-naturedly complained about the treatment, my doc said this could have been “catastrophic” 😱 Keeping up with the 2020-ness of it all, my mother is on self-quarantine because there was a Covid-19 case at the rehab facility she was at last week. 🤬 ---

It was blissfully cool this morning, so I told my joints to suck it up and went for a long walk. Of course the sun came out, but I was having a good talk with a dear friend via telephone and ignored it. I did 5.5 miles. Now I’m tired, but I have to start some laundry. **Moooom** , will the kids come back to clean up the mess? I know they’re busy unpacking, etc., but surely they’ll need the stuff that’s messing up your house. I hope Taz lets you get a full night’s sleep. **WetOne** , beautiful pony with very expressive eyes! **Nettie** , Ava was lovely. Looking forward to seeing a photo of the new one, as well as learning the name. I was going to suggest Tuba Dova, but it probably wouldn’t suit a dove. **gotti** , a big _whew_ and glad you’re doing better. Fingers crossed for your mom. ---

Afternoon all. Three loads of laundry done and the last one is in the dryer while I’m running some 'cleaner and deodorizer" stuff I bought at the store. Still have 2 loads to do, but ran out of Tide pods, so some shopping tomorrow. Moved soccer practice from Monday (Labor Day) to Wednesday and cleared out the ice-maker in the fridge. Oh, and a little nappage in-between. **Nettie** , birds weren’t a thing my family did, but the late Ava looked nice, so hope your new acquisition fits in. **wet one** , Ariel looks like a…well, horse. Don’t know nothing about horses, either. **doggio** , is Third Sort anything like Second Breakfast? (Hobbit reference) And did you have to Third Sort? **gotti** , hope mom-unit stays OK (you stay OK to). Ok, need to be thinking about foraging in the fridge for some sustenance. A banana and some Instant Breakfast won’t hold me forever. All y’all have a good evening. ---

Happy Saturday! Beautiful day here today! The sun is shining, the humidity is low, and the temps are in the low 80s. It was 54 degrees outside when I was at the park. I should have gone back for a hoody. The windows are open and the breeze is blowing, it feels I overslept this morning, slept through 3 alarms, so I was running a bit late for the park. I came home, did a little bit around here, and took a nap. I had thought about going back to the park this afternoon but woke up too late. When the weather is nice you need to take advantage of it. However, I think I needed the sleep more. The fence guy came by to show me what he was going to finish up. Said he’d be back tomorrow but he had to mow a mess of lawns today. Lots of people wanting their yards in good shape for the holiday. One of the problems with living in a small city is that everybody seems to know everybody. You have to be careful what you say sometimes. I was asking around about finding a new doctor and, well, glad I didn’t say anything too negative about the current one. I will say though, that what people didn’t say about her, said a lot more than what they did say about her. Definitely need to find a new one. My ex hubby was into birds. I like them okay, but wouldn’t be my first choice, but **Ava** was certainly beautiful. **Ariel** is very pretty. I miss my horse, I am so sorry I gave him away. Cute puppies **Red**. Glad you are feeling better **Gotti** , and I’m sure your mom will be okay. ---

A guy wants to buy my [Eclair NPR](https://eclaircameras.wordpress.com/npr-eclair-16/). It’s been stored for 20 years, and I’ve brought it home. I plugged two batteries into it, and it doesn’t work. Also, the diaphragm on the lens is very slow. DAMMIT! He asked if I’d sell it as-is, but I’d hate to sell something that doesn’t work. I’ve emailed Super 16 Inc to see if they can repair and service it, and possibly convert it to Ultra 16. Meanwhile, Mrs. L.A. has been painting the trim on the windows. We’ve just returned from the hardware store, where we bought some ‘red’ (darker than brick-red) paint for the siding. ---

And they need to clear the crap from the basement because we need to lock the cats down there during paintage. So, yes, they will remove it all. Home from an exhausting day helping with unpacking and stuff. I ran 3 loads of dishes and such thru the dishwasher, plus I scrubbed a bunch of pans (can’t believe they packed dirty pans!!) I also did some laundry for them, including a big load of Roxy’s clothes. It was a long day, but we made some good progress. They’re on their own tomorrow, and on Moanday, they’re dropping Roxy off here so they can get groceries and such. So tomorrow I can mow. And tonight I expect to sleep like the dead, because I am… ---

Now the MMP has _horsies_ too?!? 🤩 I wanna pony! We may hafta fight over who gets to gently stroke the long horse nose. And pat the strong, muscular horse neck! That’s my favorite! (Sorry, Pretzel. I’m trying to ignore the demons who are already laughing at my imminent failure. I’ve never done this before! I don’t have the benefit of My Other Shoe’s expertise in woodworking! We have just returned from a run to the bird shop to claim the new family member. She’s a few months old (store staff did not know her exact hatching date). All-white feathers, black eyes. We’ve already ruled out Ava or anything too similar, to reduce confusion. We’ve also ruled out Angel or variants as a bit cliched for a white bird. Other name suggestions would be appreciated.
