Okay, I want to remind everyone who’s coming to the get-together that it’s this Saturday. We are meeting at a club called “Memphis” on Belt Line in Addison (Dallas). It’s in a strip center on the south side of Belt Line, just a block or two west of the Tollway. I will be getting there between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. to try to get us a table; the more of you who come around that time the easier it will be to fend off the table wolves. The band takes the stage at 10 o’clock. SDMB’ers who are trying to spot me are advised to look for a GREAT BIG man with a goatee, wearing a banded-collar shirt and vest and a funky hat. I’ll most likely be to the right of the stage. I’m really excited to meet you all face to face! It’s going to be a great time, I know it…and don’t forget to bring your dancin’ shoes! Unc, I’m big but I’m not THAT big. Prudhomme is so big he needs one of those little scooters to get around. Plus he has a full beard. Im still trying to talk the wife into going. She asked what type of place is it? What should I wear? You know the usual quesions. Hmmm… Think ill wear my bluejeens cowboy boots, plaid shirt and of course my big ol hat. 🙂 Serious though were not going to make it if she doesn’t get an answer. * * * Mac slowly slinks off to lurkdom. **slink slink slink** I lurk therefore, I am. It’s a very casual place…jeans would be fine. I wouldn’t necessarily go with full country regalia unless it’s a statement of personal style, but really you can wear anything to Memphis. Mostly it’s a jeans-and-polo-shirts place. * * * Live a Lush Life Da Chef ---

Well, I’ll be wearing a dress, but that’s cause I like to wear dresses when I’m dancing. Actually I’ll probably be overdressed. ## Haven’t been to Memphis before, but most of the bars I’ve been in in Dallas, the people were wearing nice casual: jeans and a nice top, or a casual dress, not really party clothes but not grungy either. …in a state so nonintuitive it can only be called weird… ---

I’ll make it there sometime. I’m 6’5" about 250, short light brown hair, goatee… I’ll be wearing tan slacks, blue long sleave button down. If you see someone who’s blocking out the sun, that’s me. ---

By minutes, I simply mean that at these get-togethers, someone usually keeps notes about who was there and what was said (especially which other Dopers were mentioned), so all the other Dopers can live vicariously through us.
