[Previous thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=437234&highlight=pumpkin+melbourne) on the story of Nai Yin Xue, who abandoned his three year old daughter Qian Xun (tagged “Pumpkin” by the media) at a Melbourne station in September 2007, having fled New Zealand after the alleged murder of his wife An An Liu. Wow, that was quick. I was expecting the trial to last for weeks, but I guess it must have been a pretty straightforward case
