Hi. I do a lot of intensive stuff such as 3d rendering, video rendering and of course gaming. I currently have a Nvidia GTX 650 Ti Boost and it is good but I am thinking of upgrading to a GTX 1050 Ti.

Due to bad experiences, I am not interested in AMD and the 1050 Ti is the right price. What I am wondering is if the increase in power is significant and noticeable and hence the upgrade is worth it.

The 650 Ti ranks 118 and the 1050 Ti ranks 51 according to this list: [PassMark Software - Video Card (GPU) Benchmark Charts - Video Card Model List](http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php)

I recently upgraded to the 1050 ti from a 750 (non-ti). Some games like Far Cry 4 I barely got 30 fps with the 750, now I get 60 fps with higher settings. That’s worth it to me since I only have a 300W power supply and I’m not comfortable changing it out myself.

The 6-series to the 10-series is a significant jump. I went from a 670 to a 1070 and it’s worlds apart. Whether it’s worth it _for you_ depends on a number of factors, like what games you tend to play and what resolution you play them at, plus your own financial situation.

For an “average gamer”, I would say, yes, upgrade.

It’s a massive upgrade. You should, however, try and stretch to the 6 GB GTX 1060.
