Upon entering a room, people generally turn to the ______.

After eliminating the fact that doors may be hinged on either side from the situation, I would assume that people generally move in the direction that the room “flows.” For example, in a box-shaped room with the entrance near the left of the box, the person would turn right (toward the center of the room). Or, imagine a similar room with the entrance in the exact center. A large desk is sitting perpendicular to the right wall. I’d assume that most people would automatically turn left upon entering (unless they wanted to access the desk area).
