People looking to make a fuss will find a fuss. Black Jesus, buff Jesus, screaming in agony Jesus, beatific Jesus, emaciated white as snow Jesus … the only non-depicted Jesus is Decrepit Old Jesus. I have a print titled ‘Jesus In His Yoga Posture,’ in full lotus, painted by a disciple of Krishnamurti. I’m fond of it. ---

I can buy that he was dressed like that right before the Crucifiction, when the Roman soldiers were gambling for his cloak. But that sure doesn’t look like the facial expression of someone about to be crucified. ---

I remember a sermon where the minister spoke about various images of Jesus - Jesus as a white guy, Jesus as an Asian guy, Jesus as a Black guy, Jesus as a woman. The point that she made that day was she thought it was important for us to see Jesus in everyone we meet. And, she said, if we’re really diligent in following Jesus’ love and mercy, we might just catch a glimpse of Jesus in the mirror… @Love_Rhombus - “Cross fit”?!? ISWYDT! 😃 ---

Oh, and there’s nothing about that Mary image that marks her as being Mary. If it’s supposed to be, it needs some context or iconography or something. At least paint a babe at her breast, or a halo around her hair, or something. ---
