On the subject of light switches I came across a great idea when renting a cottage in France this year. In the living room there were three light switches , in different parts of the room , for one ceiling lamp. Instead of having complicated inter-wiring between the switches you had instead three push buttons which , when activated , energised a relay located in the main fuse box and switched on the light.
