I don’t think it’s appropriate at all to suggest that a parenting challenge is due to the sexual orientation (or race, or religion, etc.) of the parent (in a thread started by the parent) unless that parent makes it part of their question. ---

The grand irony here, is that **tapu** ’s son may very well be acting out on Mother’s Day because he has two moms and no male influence in his life. Sure, it’s not the type of thing we want to acknowledge could exist, but hiding in the sandbox with our fingers in our ears is a piss-poor way to deal with our problems. (With regard to the plethora of homophobic statements he has made, I generally support this pitting) Regards, Bigot-Racist-Islamophobe ---

Besides, it seems unlikely that “male influence” is needed to celebrate mother’s day. That always struck me as a holiday by and for women. ---
