# Uruguay legalizes gay marriage. I am not surprised.

[Congress has legalized gay marriage](http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/apr/11/uruguay-legalises-same-sex-marriage) and the president is expected to sign the law. This is the least a country called U R Gay can do. 🙂

When I was a kid I had a Uruguayan pen pal, which made me want to learn more about the country. I have had a crush with it from afar ever since. I am glad that I was right.

If only the rest of the world would join them.
