I was going to say “no, the BBC frequently rushes out internet copy and tidies it up later”. On closer inspection, though, I do find it pretty weird that the contentious bits have been edited out and don’t seem to appear elsewhere on the internet, except on the website of the “Kenya Broadcasting Corporation” which appears to have copied the original BBC article verbatim. Odd. I temp at the BBC from time to time, I can try and find out what’s going on (but I’m not sure I’ll have much luck, I’m just a peon).
And now the Google cache has updated and reflects only the new version of the story…
