# US citizens denied new passports

Got a nickel that says the “citizenship” border scandal quickly morphs into “who gets to vote?” in Texas. Nationwide, Republicans will do just about anything to win. Texas Republicans don’t have such inhibitions.

Don’t think Trump has to worry about winning Texas in 2020 if he runs. But local offices could be impacted by this stuff.

The whole red state/blue state thing tends to obscure a lot of local politics - South Texas isn’t Trump country and never has been. Hidalgo County was bluer than Vermont in 2016, for instance.
