Talking heads on CTV say that the Tories are pressuring Trudeau to recall Parliament; Trudeau may be asking for some guarantee that they won’t vote non-confidence in this crisis. ---

All they want is to call an election. I trust nothing they say. Nothing. I also wouldn’t trust the Liberals,… but I ALWAYS trust the Tories less 🤷‍♂️ ---

I am disgusted. I’m four miles (straight-line distance) from the Canadian border on the Salish Sea. I’m ashamed. The United States was once the Beacon of Democracy. Now we’re 1930s Germany. If Trump were to have a very noisy and very smelly and very public bout of explosive diarrhoea, and then have a stoke that left him capable of only uttering animal sounds, I’d laugh and laugh. Stand up to us, Canada! 🇨🇦 ---

Listening to CBC. They are saying this has something to do with fentanyl. Nonsense! Trump does not care about that. He just pardoned Ross Ulbricht! Drugs are just the legalistic excuse he needs to make an emergency generation stick in our court system. ---

Not much I can do on the micro level, but I’ll do what I can. I’ve already written to my representatives, both local and national, and exhorted them to do all they can to put a stop to this madness. I will increase by a lot my consumption of Canadian goods, even if they are much more expensive. I have a fair bit of mature timber that loggers regularly sniff around and offer to harvest. I expect its value is about to go higher now. I won’t harvest it. I am so sorry to all my Canadian friends. Americans need to fight this as hard as Canadians will. ---
