I’d like one of the top guys to throw out a low round today, then fade over the weekend - just to reduce the field. ---

McDowell finished at 3 under, three putting Hole #9. So if he is the leader (or co-leader), the cut will be +7. Right now there are over a hundred golfers at +7 or better. ---

And I have been meaning to ask **borchevsky** why he picked Kent Eger? Just wondering if you know the guy. I have never heard of him. I see that he is Canadian and he did pick Mike Weir, but did not pick Stephen Ames. ---

I played a round with him (the brother) on Monday and we were talking about Kent qualifying. We were waiting on the 6th tee and he was talking about how Kent is much better than him; I had to laugh because he was -4 through 5 at the time :). ---

There are some good scores to be had out there today - Davis Love is -5 on the front nine alone. A lot of red numbers from the early tee times. On the other hand, Mike Weir is +9. ---

The par 4 fourth hole is only playing 284 which nearly every player can drive. Most scores are over par from the early starters but Tom Watson is -3 today after 12 holes. The weatherman is forecasting heavier winds today. 20 mph and higher gusts. ---

What a special place this is. I was fortunate enough to be there on Thursday. But I’ll be watching on TV for the rest-- it’s really hard to watch a lot of good golf at the course. I see YE Yang shot a 49 on the back nine yesterday. Yikes! That 14 hole can be brutal, but he had almost nothing but squares on his card for those holes. ---
