And credit where it is due: the centrist ex-Republican running for Florida governor is going to lose by just about the same margin, so looks like Florida got the “vote blue no matter who” message. ---

In the 11th Congressional district here in NC (which is Asheville and environs), the R incumbent, Chuck Edwards, withdrew his name from consideration due to allegations of sexual harassment of his staff. This is the seat formerly held by Madison Cawthorn, who basically earned the enmity of the state Republican machine and lost his primary to the hand-picked Edwards. It looks like the D contender in that district, Jamie Ager, is set to win that seat over the R replacement, Jennifer Balkcom. Hasn’t been called yet, but I expect it to be soon. Maybe this is a note to local Rs that NC really doesn’t like sex pests.
