# Usage agreement: Am I missing it?

Hi, guys.

Sorry if I’m missing the obvious.

I wanted to read the SDMB usage agreement. (You know, the one I probably skimmed and agreed to when I signed up.)

Maybe I’m spending too much time reading Pit threads, but I would like to make sure I’m clear on the guidelines. A lot of Pit warnings and lectures seem to spring from users not following the usage agreement. For example, in [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=56215), TVeblen says nobody should post “knowingly false and/or defamatory, innacurate, abusive, hateful, vulgar, hateful or harrassing material.” Seems like a good guideline to have. I would just prefer to be able to read it for myself.

I don’t see a link to the usage agreement anywhere.

Can you point me in the correct direction?

If people were dilligent about doing a search first, ATMB would be all test posts. So don’t feel too bad about it. Just try to avoid doing it in those busy forums. Oh, and welcome to the SDMB. Hope you like it here.

You can also see the usage agreement by clicking on the icon in the upper right labelled “[register](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php?action=signup)”

Of course, you have to log out on the main page before you look at the “register” icon or you get a message that you’re already registered.
