# Used card when my computer had a virus on it!!! Oops

So i have been in some financial turmoil, like everyone else. My car payment was due today and i have online capabilities to pay it.

MY computer has been on the fritz lately, with an obvious virus, it has made many programs on the computer un-operable.

Not thinking about it, i did my payment like a did every month, but now im kind of worried.

Am i screwed? Did those bastards get my number?

Do you know the name of the virus?

True viruses do not capture credit card info and such. That is done by other forms of malware.

I would advise you to monitor your credit card statement, and report suspicious activity, if any.

It all depends on what the virus put on your computer and without knowing which virus it was, you can’t be sure (though it is unlikely with most viruses around today).

If you’re concerned, call the credit card company. They’ll be happy to issue you a new one immediately.
