When camping the Jolly Roger goes up when the rum comes out. Maybe they picked up a few cases? In all seriousness, good for them. We don’t know what the mission was but neither do our adversaries. Make them sweat a little. ---

While I can’t imagine Brother Jimmy saying it in front of his family, he was a [del]submariner[/del] bubblehead, first and foremost, and “Fuck, yeah!” would still be appropriate. ETA Especially if it were his boat. ---

My nephew just returned to Seattle after several months on a nuke sub. I wonder if this was his. He doesn’t talk much about his work these days. ---

One report states that during WWII, British subs would return to harbor with a Jolly Roger to indicate they had sunk an enemy ship. So the speculation was that the USS Jimmy Carter was successful in whatever mission it had. I do wonder how peacenik idiot Jimmy Carter feels about having a sub with covert missions named after him… ---

Lieutenant Jimmy Carter who with his men once _walked inside a hot reactor to secure it?_ Whose wife was the godmother of this vessel for its christening? Somehow I don’t think the stuffed shirts in Washington approve of the US Jimmy Carter’s flag. It got too much press attention and that means politics raises its ugly head. I am very glad that our military is standing up for itself when threatened. We’ve let too many 3rd rate countries push us around.
