I get…I believe it’s three weeks a year. For a long time, I was getting more time than I was supposed to under our policy because someone grandfathered me in under the old rules. When this was correctly brought to my attention, I protested and got the old standard (It’s moot now because I now accrue what I would have under the old standard–I’ve been here 5 years).
I manage to routinely fritter away and lose vacation time. I suspect I’ve not taken 1-2 weeks a year, EVERY year.
A rant–my firm has a, shall we say, irritating, policy, where I got a mediocre “grade” for attendance because I missed 5 days sick leave (we’re allotted 10, but 5 is considered mediocre). What really gets me is that they gave me this grade despite the fact that my billable hours (important for a paralegal) were hire than many/most in my position, and I had not taken and lost** WELL OVER** 5 days of unusued vacation time. If I’d have been allowed to credit that unusued time towards the days I called in sick, I would have had perfect attendance, which would have resulted in a larger bonus.
