I wonder what kind of medical malpractice an attorney would call such a claim. I think it’s major but perhaps not to extent of other cases that readily make the news cycle.
As others have said, consult with your doctor as you may need (multiple) follow-up blood test because some things take time to incubate & show up (if they’re going to show up), report this to the relevant regulatory agency in your state, & while not absolutely necessary; yes, consulting with a lawyer is a good idea.
However, I must comment on the above statement. Trying to leave current politics out of it, there are lots of people not getting shots these days. The US is currently in the middle of a measles outbreak, including a couple of deaths for a disease that was basically previously eradicated in this country.
You know nothing of her history including if she’s current on her shots or if her personal behavior is/was risky; maybe she used to be a drug addict & cleaned up her act (good for her!) but contracted something in her past.
OK, finally got a call from CVS. They informed me that the person who gave me the shot apparently stuck herself with the needle, exposing her to MY bodily fluids. I stopped her right there. No, it was the other way around. She said she was misinformed. So, already we see how they are handling it. They want to set me up for labs so that my insurance doesn’t have to pay for it or at least see if they can direct bill CVS. Ugh.
Oh. The legal team has been alerted.
Get an attorney. Don’t talk to them: CVS, their representatives or lawyer.
So far it was the medical department. It’s the same one from my own work. It’s not quite the legal team, but it is the one I had to deal with when I had to take sick time for FMLA for my appendix. Same company.

No. My company uses the same organization for medical issues, such as FLMA. So it’s not the legal dept. However, the document they wanted me to present to my doctor so they would pay for things instead of my insurance. It says their employee was exposed to my blood. I told her it was reversed and i wanted it corrected. She said they don’t even have a form for that since it’s so rare. Ok so I’m not accepting it. We’ll deal with payments later.
No. Don’t do a single thing with that form until you spoken with a lawyer. You can’t have that entered into your medical file, which will happen if you hand it to your doctor.
This absolutely IS the their legal department preparing to defend. They are trying to muddy the waters. And you are a babe in the woods. Lawyer. Now.
It’s not just about getting money from them. By twisting that around they have now endangered your health. You won’t get the prophylactic care you need if the medical file says that your blood went to her instead of the true way it happened.
You absolutely have to start taking this seriously and ACT. Get a lawyer who does medical malpractice on the line first thing in the morning.
OK, I found out that it is the company that handles workers comp for companies.
Again, they are not your advocate in any way, shape or form. Always have everything confirmed by a doctor of your choosing.

That sounds like the CVS employee has misrepresented to CVS about what happened, and she’s claiming she needs treatment.
If so, this incident isn’t even being looked at properly by the right departments. Legal may not even realize they’ve got an injured party outside of the company.
You absolutely need an attorney ASAP. If you haven’t heard back already from the lawyer request you made through your company, you need to abandon that and begin a search yourself immediately.

Find a lawyer. Do nothing else. Talk to nobody else until you’ve found a good one – probably Medical Malpractice or Personal Injury.
Use a site like Avvo or Martindale or reach out to your state’s Bar Association. They generally do attorney referrals, too.
It sucks what happens to you. What you do next … is up to you. I’d take this seriously, and understand that you are not only the ‘injured party;’ You are also David to their Goliath.
Lawyer up. They have. Count on it. They have a Risk Management Department for cases exactly like yours.

I don’t think there’s a great conspiracy here so much as it’s more of a man bites dog story. Although rare, the normal scenario is that the employee gets an accidental stick of a needle that was in the patient. This scenario should be off the charts rare. It should be so rare that people aren’t even expecting it & probably aren’t comprehending what happened.
Most people drive w/o issue every day. Ocassionally, someone will drive off the road & into a tree. Very, very rarely, a tree will fall in a road & hit a car driving down the road (as opposed to parked). If you call the insurance co & say a tree hit my car I bet the claims person would be thinking you drove into a tree just based on how many times that happens vs. the other scenario. Similar situation here.
I have contacted an attorney and am just waiting for the callback. Might be a day or two.

Yeah, I suspect this is what’s happening. I’d assume this scenario basically never happens because if an employee sticks themself by accident before giving an injection, they throw away the damn needle! It’s incomprehensible that this wasn’t done, so when it happens, there’s no protocol, no form to fill out, and no mental capacity to understand what happened.
Yeah, the packet is largely setting up the tests, giving them access (temp) to the results. Stuff that will need to be done.
