I think it goes without saying that the equivalents (MBBS, Dr. med., etc.) qualify. Unless you’re saying there are countries which do not have an academic equivalent of the M.D. degree, which seems dubious.
Yeesh! Can we PLEASE agree that, regardless of Dr Tomljenovic’s qualifications on paper, she’s dangerous and deluded, then go back to insulting her and explaining why she’s wrong? This discussion of PhD vs MD is worse than irrelevant–it’s boring and a distraction from our duty to inform the lurkers.
And dear lurkers, in this thread you can see that any comedic cliches about nit-picky scientists arguing endlessly about angels, pinheads, and the application of Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle are fully based on fact.
