To heck with this. **Eutychus** – if you’re going to have down periods like this, despite all the wonderful, absolutely true stuff quoted about you in your sig – I’ll be forced to consider starting an on-line petition of all your fans around here (and I do mean the _trillions_ of 'em!) asking that something be done major-league to cheer you up. I’m not part of your circle, but I think you are a fantastic, wonderful human being. Were I in the States, I’d say it to you in person. Believe in yourself. Dammit. ---

Thanks from me, too, **FCM**. I was never quite sure just what a ferndock was, either. I ran across it in an old Dan Clyne underground comic that appeared in Chicago’s BIJOU FUNNIES back around 1969 or '70, called “Hungry Chuck Biscuits.” A man and a woman dig up a grave and release a large oafish teen in a checked shirt and cowboy boots, who announces “I’m HUNGRY CHUCK BISCUITS and God made me!” and then tells the couple that they should leave and go home, as “Graveyards are for FERNDOCKS!” I use it once in a while, as it adds a nice Dobie Gillis-like fillip to conversation. ---

I have a vaguely creepy feeling that I was better off without knowing so much about ferndocks. I also have a vageuly creepy feeling that I may be vaguely creepy. Or a vague creep. Whichever. ---
