Valentine Exchange - the 2010 Edition!

Heh- why not!

Excellent! I’ve added you to the list, Cicero.

That would be fab as mine will have to go from Italy and the postal system can be a bit sluggish. Then again, whoever receives my card can pretend to their flatmates or SO that they have an Italian lover.

We don’t actually worry about exactly when the cards get there. If you go back to either of the old threads I linked to in the OP, you’ll read about it being the Valentine season.

I don’t remember ever having someone participate from Italy. Welcome aboard!

GT

Yay! I’ve been MIA for a while but I remember these were always fun.

Sending email with my details and bumping the thread for you since the deadline is fast approaching.

Welcome back, Aries! I’ve updated the spreadsheet. Anyone else out there who wants to participate?

Deadline is Sunday night.

GT

I’m in (I’ll send the email in a moment). I’ll even try to get them sent out on time! =^_^=

Thanks for playing, STG! I’ll add you to the list in a moment.

What - looks like I’m not the only Aussie for a change. Can I have any Aussies as extra to the number of people I have already opted for? I Still wants a couple of overseas cards though.

Sure - there’s only one other Aussie (so far), but I’ll add him to your list.

Here’s the last bump from me before the deadline.

GT

I am a teeny bit late - may I sneak under the wire and join the party>

Email sent now.

Since you sneaked in before I put the lists together, you’re in! Yay!

So, no further participants this year.

I’m about to go create lists and hope to have them out to everyone tonight. Will be back with an update after a while.

GT

Lists are out. I haven’t sent the lists for the e-card exchange; I want to double-check the list before I send it.

I’ll get it sent out sometime tomorrow. Please let me know if you have questions or if I missed anyone.

Have fun, everyone!

GT

Just a question- do we add our names/ user name to the cards or are they anonymous? (That is when we post them dufus!)

I signed my name and then put “aka” melodyharmonius. I figured I know yours, it’s only fair that you know mine . . .

I filled mine out yesterday - my boyfriend is supposed to drop them off at the post office on his way in to work (he works next door).

To those who get one from me - please realize that NOTHING says Valentine’s Day like me using up the last of my Christmas-themed postage stamps. Nothing.

  1. I just sent e-card lists. Let me know if you have any problems opening the lists.

Except possibly me using up ancient, mostly Christmas-themed, postage stamps in combination with various 2, 3, 4 and 5-cent stamps.

  1. And in answer to Cicero: I usually sign both my real and user names too.

Everyone should be sending to people they’re receiving from, so even if you don’t sign the card, the recipient is probably going to know who it’s from unless you’re mailing from a completely different place.

Happy Valentines season to all!

GT

Don’t you just hate it when you buy one Christmas stamp and don’t even get to use that one?

On the flip side, the Post Office now think I am immensely popular buying all those new stamps.

Okay. Cards all written up and about to be posted.

I apologise in advance for:

a) My copperplate (not) handwriting,

and

b). The cheesey messages on the cards. I just grabbed a bunch this morning.

I think the classic was when I was one Christmas-stamp short and it was an international postage situation. I bummed a stamp from my SO - with an USA Flag.

So that card’s postage was something like:

Rudolph Stamp - USA Flag - Snowman Stamp.

I felt like I was trying to make some political statement or something - even though I had no idea what it is! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, my post office will look at me strange next week when I’m buying all postcard postage . . .

(goes off to finish my grid.)

Mine went out yesterday. Wishing everyone an early Happy Valentines!
