Why doesn’t someone on staff set up an account – no subscription and no ad-block – so you can see what others are seeing? ---

The ad providers can check the IP address range of a user and if comes from the same range as the client site, they can feed it an innocuous ad. They can also check to see if the IP addresses are in the same geographic area. To have a chance at seeing the bad ads, someone who lives in another part of the country would have to do the checking. ---

I’ve been getting an orange juice commercial over and over. I am not touching it or scrolling over it at all, it’s at the very bottom of the screen, beneath all the SDMB stuff. ---
