(Of course, you can block the entire posts by poster… just saying…) Apparently the signature feature puts a larger burden on the server so sign-offs are actually friendlier to the hamsters even if they annoy some posters. My conjecture on the burden is that the signatures are in another file and so if a user used his signature in every post that adds up to a lot of extra file lookups. We still do not have a well tune database and are possibly running into some size issues with MySql. This is really outside my programming area though so remember I said conjecture. ---

Although I do not usually use one myself, I actually rather _like_ the one- or two-line simple signoffs that some posters include. Certainly, intelligent people can disagree on this issue. As pointed out above, they are not a rules violation. I had not weighed in on this before, but I am doing so now on the chance, no matter how negligable, that this is coming up time and time again because I had not yet offered my opinion on the subject.
