Just a question for those who aren’t bothered by the sign offs at all (playing devil’s advocate here)… What did you think of the kind of behavior where, say, one kid was perfectly within there rights to reach across that imaginary line and constantly touch you, for no other reason, when you were in the car? I mean, they weren’t hurting you and protestations made you sound like a freakin’ wuss. However, they only did it to annoy you, right? Get yer goat. 🙂 So, in that context, I think some posters feel that way about certain other posters who continue to use their sign off when other options are available. In my own case, plenty don’t bother me (Daniel and Steven), others very rarely (like \*\*Shodan’\*\*s), but some seem like the only reason that it’s there is because it _can_ be. Now I’m okay with that, que sera and all, but I’m not going to ignore the argument regarding them put forth by others or to pretend that they can’t be annoying. If they truly weren’t an issue at all for those that persist despite huge opposition, then in my humble opinion, they’d utilize the signature field as advised once per thread. Otherwise signing off every single time on a one-liner repeatedly in a single thread feels like it has more than just one meaning behind it. If there’s a reason besides habit and the dichotomy between real and user name (the only things I’ve read mentioned), I’d like to hear it. Happily hanging on, **faithfool** ~ ---
