_Popcorn_ (and its B-side _At The Movies_) was by **Hot Butter**.

It still amazes me how many people actually know this song. My brother had the 45 as I was growing up but that was the only place I’d ever heard it…until about 4 years ago when I heard it playing overhead at Red Lobster.

**Hot Butter** (an alias for Moog pioneer Stan Free) has a pretty interesting [back story](http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB040403021119440747&sql=Bwj9as35ba3bg). “Popcorn” was written by another Moog pioneer, Gershon Kingsley, a few years earlier.

The [Classical Music Archives](http://www.classicalarchives.com/index.html) seem to fit the bill.
