Oh, very good!
you can simply solve it using sin law, first draw the diagram then consider that 90-25=65 this angle should coincide with the angle opposit to the 250 vector you have then solve using sin law sin65/250=sinx/50 x=10.44, you have just found the lower angle of the triangle so 25-10.44=14.6 is the direction of the plane then you can use sin law again to find the missing vector or cosin law or vector components your choise lets use sin law its the easiest to remember since you already know two angles the third should be easy to find 180-10.44-65=104.56 using sin law sin65/250=sin104.56/x x=266.9 or 267
hope that helps

It’s an example of a homework problem I am trying to walk someone I am tutoring through…
Not to be snarky, but…you’re the tutor???

You may not be aware of this, but this board has had instances of youngsters seeking homework assistance who post in a very similar manner as what you just did and anyone’s username is woefully ineffectual at providing an insight into someone’s inherent integrity.
I apologize wasting your time.
The whole not helping people with homework policy is stupid, anyways. Even the most incompetent teachers don’t just grade you on a single homework problem. Even in the worst case scenario, where we did all the work and the person just cheated off of us, the student will still wind up failing if they don’t know the information. If not from other homework problems (especially since those often aren’t graded), from in-class work and tests where the student cannot cheat.
The only exception I can think of are essay-based classes. But even then it isn’t hard to avoid doing the student’s work for them. It’s not like we are in the habit of answering in essay format. I have rarely seen a thread that covers more than 10% of the work.
The problem isn’t in helping with homework, it’s in doing it for them. Which is admittedly a distinction which is often lost on students.

hope that helps
I’m afraid it might not help, since the question was originally asked over a year ago.
