# Veggie juices not based on tomato?

Seemed like too much of a hijack to ask [over here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=502693), so here I am.

I have problems with acid reflux which led to having to have surgery on my vocal cords a while back, so it’s relatively serious. I think that one of the contributing factors was that I absolutely fell in love with tomato juice for a while.

Tomato juice = a gut-load of acid. Sadly, all the veggie juices I seem to see at the grocery store are variations on V8, which is mostly, from what I can tell, tomato juice.

Can anyone recommend veggie juices I could try that are not tomato-based?

There are carrot based juices by “Naked” and "Bolthouse Farms (or something like that!) I had a sample of a really good carrot-based juice at Trader Joe’s not long ago.

Came in to suggest carrot juice, I see that I am late by almost an hour.

I don’t think any big names sell it in the US, but juice from squash can be tasty, too.

Have you thought about buying a juicer and making your own juices? That way you can control exactly what’s in them.

I was going to suggest a juicer, too. But I’m not sure how much work the OP wants to put into his juices, so I decided not to. But, really, fresh carrot juice and/or acorn squash juice is pretty tasty. Add a bit of honey to the acorn squash juice and it becomes a dessert drink!
