# Venting about packaging — can be difficult to open!

That bag is not meant to be reused.
It’s a zipper to aid the people packing it.
There will be tiny vent holes in the bags. They need to squish it down when they pack the bagged undies in a box to ship. So air has to be pushed out.

I like ziplock bags with holes for some items. They are great for organizing computer cables, for instance.

Hearing aid battery packaging! The old kind was easy. Open one partition, take out battery, the circle rolls around to the opening to new battery as needed. Just got a new package. Must cut out individual batteries with scissors. (Either that or some new completely unknown way to open that is not evident on the almost nonexistent instructions on package). I looked, and several different brands had this same new packaging, so must be new ruling. Hate it.

I believe that is about making it fail safe against small children getting a tiny battery out and swallowing it. Even the tiny batteries can be catastrophic in a baby or toddler if ingested.

I’m not sure how you get the zipper to work properly after opening.

Speaking of zipper packaging. I just bought some slippers through the big river. They had one of those zippered bags… folded neatly and stuffed into the slipper. ¯\_(ツ)\_/¯

My mom, 84 yo, with terrible arthritis in her hands has to use tin snips to open the packaging her hearing aid batteries are in. And it’s not because she has arthritis. My sister and I can’t get it open either. It’s ridiculous.

It could be that the tin snips are handier than any other scissors or knives.
