One of the best episodes yet, I’d say.
Highlights:[ul][li]Who would win a fantasy fistfight between Anne Frank and Lizzie Borden?[/li][li]Brock may act all annoyed, but you know the guy _lives_ for days like this. “Doc! You have a table over there with a sign that says ‘Laser Death Ray Bargain Bin!’”[/li]“No, my young Paduan learner. This one is mine!” Bzzzt. Zzzzip. “I’ve been gypped!”[/ul]And, Dr. Girlfriend? Listen to what everybody is telling you. Dump the Monarch, have some new vocal cords implanted by Master Billy Quizboy, and get your own show. You’re ready for the big time! And have you ever considered Triana as your Number Two?

I wonder what Dr. Girlfriend’s past was like. She sure seems popular with the other supervillans 🙂

At this moment, I have a dog sleeping in my lap that looks just like Baron Underbite, _sans_ prosthetic jaw.
“Guild of Calamitous Intent”…a good name for both a fansite, OR a rock band!
Poor Dr. Venture…surely he’s able to make _some_ working superscience inventions, right? (Even WITHOUT using an orphan to fuel them.)
The “Phantom Limb”…neurology humor—gotta love it.

Some of the guard staff looked a little _too much_ like Hank and Dean. I thought one of the two was having a day-dream to start the episode. It left me confused.
Clearly, the best line was:
I’m not going to flush. Let them see the wrath of the Monarch!

I don’t know about her past, but she reminds me a little of a women I met in college who was majoring in electrical engineering. This was long enough ago that she was sometimes the only female in the classroom. And she was _hot_.
And just about every week she’d have to give some poor EE nerd essentially the same lecture that Dr. Girlfriend gives to Master Billy Quizboy and Mr. White:

Noted while freeze framing the VCR: Dr. Orpheus’s first name is “Byron” and he lives at “1297 Venture Compound West”. I guess the “West” accounts for the mountains and pine trees in the background of this episode. It definitely looks like a different place from the more suburban locale of the Venture Compound in “Ice Station Impossible”.

Just before the Monarch’s henchman attacks Brock with a (non-lethal) light-saber, he shows off with a series of clumsy moves, in an unmistakable imitation of the “Star Wars Kid.” Hilarious!

I give my vote to this show for smartest overlooked show on tv. No one I know INR watches this show. Shame. Who could possibly resist the Monarch’s henchmen and their shananagins?

I particularly enjoyed the chief security guy’s odd obsession with crossdressing. At first it’s just normal drill sergeant banter, but he just keeps going on and on about it … .
It’s fun watch Brock get creeped out by it … I loved Patrick Warburton’s deadpan “No, I don’t want to see them in dresses.” line … .
And how about when the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend find Dr. Venture’s bedroom so depressing that they can’t even muster the energy to do something evil? I don’t remember the exact line … it’s something like “There’s nothing I could do to him that life hasn’t already done … .”
Dr. Girlfriend is a **great** character. She needs her own show … .

The back story to the rulebook for the Guild of Calamitous Intent is just too funny. I really hope we get some flashbacks to find out what exactly happened to Rusty with the villains back then.
